Tahiti & Her Islands cover over two million square miles
of the South Pacific Ocean
and is comprised of five great archipelagos, the Society Islands the Tuamotu Islands, the Austral Islands, the Gambier Islands, and the Marquesas Islands.
Most of our tours, focus on the, the Society Archipelago which has two distinct parts: The Windward Islands and the Leeward Islands.
The "Windward Islands", consists of four "high" islands including Tahiti or "Love Island" ( is actually two islands, Tahiti Nui the larger, and Tahiti Iti, the smaller one), Moorea and finally Tetiaora.
The "Leeward Islands", are located about 200 km from Tahiti, and include Huahine, Bora Bora, Raiatea /Tahaa and Maupiti.
The Tuamotu Archipelago is included in some tours, primarily due to the super coral diving, especially in Rangiroa. It lies to the east of the Society archipelago and is the largest chain, with a surface of 600 sq. miles. It consists of 80 atolls which are ring shaped coral islands surrounding a lagoon. Rangiroa is the widest atoll, and Manihi , Fakarava, and Tikehau are the other main atolls. Many islands are crowned with jagged peaks while others appear
to barely float above the breaking waves. Spread over an area
as large as Western Europe, the total land mass of all the
islands adds up to an area only slightly larger than the tiny
state of Rhode Island.
